This top end, digital water temp gauge is Made in the U.S.A. and comes with a Lifetime Warranty. The accurate Stainless Steel sensor measures temperature from 100 to 300° F. The digital water temp gauge sensor is fully adjustable and comes with a 16’ cable. The stylized chrome or black bezel gauge fits in a standard 2 1/16” spot on the dash.  The gauge comes with the choice of either a bright blue or red LED display.

When installing a digital H2O temperature thermometer, the first thing you have to consider is what type gauge you would like. Why are a cooling systems and electric water temperature gauges necessary? Commercial truck engines generate mechanical power by extracting energy from combustion. Most of the heat energy is utilized to crate mechanical power for the drive train. Engines are not efficient, in that a lot of the energy created by combustion escapes the combustion chamber in the form heat. This waster heat must be removed through the engine through air or water flow, and exhaust gases. Thus, all engines need cooling to operate. The water temperature can be utilized to measure the temperature of the engine, and that is why a digital H2O temp gauge is needed.

The components of an engine melt at a temperature that is lower the temperature created in combustion engines in the combustion chamber. The temperature of the combustion chamber is also high enough to ignite the engine lubricants such as motor oil. The digital water temp thermometer keeps you informed whether your coolant system is working fast enough to cool the engine.

An electric water temperature sensor let’s you know if your radiator is working to peak performance. A radiator is heat exchanger. Water takes heat from the engine and takes it to the radiator where air cools the water back down. Most engines that are liquid cooled use another chemical in addition to water to cool the engine such as antifreeze or rust protector. Water is an excellent liquid coolant due to its specific heat capacity, or the ability of water to absorb heat from the engine. Water can absorb twice as much as oil.
