The gauge sensor can be installed inside the vehicle to measure inside temperature, or outside the vehicle (frequently behind the front bumper, or on the side view mirror) to measure outside temperature. This sleek and precise aftermarket digital gauge will complement your dash and report temperatures from 150° F to -99° F. With an extremely accurate sensor gauge of ±1° F, you will never have to worry about misreadings. The broad temperature range of 249° F allows drivers to travel from the Arizona desert in middle of summer up to the Northwestern Territory in the dead of winter with confidence that their digital outside air temperature gauge is running as strong as their vehicle.

For temperatures 34° F or below, the auto thermometer gauge will flash an “ICE” warning momentarily as there may be ice on the road. The “ICE” warning will not flash again at 34° F unless the outside temperature increases to 37° F before dropping back down again. Without a temperature sensor and digital automobile gauge you and your car may be at risk every time you cross a bridge, head over a mountain pass or drive in the winter.

The auto thermometer gauge comes with a digital LED display and large numbers that are easy to read, even under direct sunlight. The red or blue LED displays block numbering for clear perception of the digital gauge readings. If you prefer the Celsius temperature scale, instead of the Fahrenheit, select “Celsius” from the drop down menu. Outside of the United States, the Celsius temperature scale is utilized for most tasks. Even within the U.S., the engineering and scientific communities work with the Celsius temperature scale almost exclusively.

The drop down menu also contains the option for you to choose a chrome, or black, bevel for your inside air temperature gauge to match your vehicle’s interior. The bezel is the ring that surrounds the digital temperature gauge’s face to protect the edges of the auto glass. It protects the edge of the display and the space between the housing and the face, and provides a façade to match the rest of the dash board display.

Installation is straightforward for an aftermarket accessory like this auto outside air temperature gauge, it is compatible with any vehicle with 12 vdc power. The automotive gauge fits in a standard 2 1/16” dash hole. Also included is a 10 foot sensor cable with a sensor thermometer. The 10 foot auto thermometer sensor cable detaches from the temperature gauge for easy replacement.
